So, what is Jelly week? JELLYWEEK IS A GLOBAL COLLABORATION EVENT. JELLIES are temporary local collaboration events free of charge for coworkers of all kinds. During the JELLYWEEK they will take place from January 14th to January 20th 2013 globally. Coworking, entrepreneur, changemaker, techie, innovation and other problem-solving networks are invited to organize a local event and to communicate, collaborate and create new partnerships and action on the global level.
In the last WORLDWIDE JELLYWEEK in January 2012, there were 223 jellies hosted in 35 countries in 6 continents including Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, Columbia, Egypt, Kenia, Singapore, Kasachstan, USA and most of the European countries. It was a breathtaking experience to build up more personal connections on a global level, to inspire old and new local communities, to explore together the sense and obstacles of worldwide collaboration and to connect other sectors and movements with the worldwide coworking infrastructure. It was all about creating new synergies, a huge win-win-situation for all participants and a rich field of open innovation for networks worldwide.
Every day wil have a different theme, so pick the day that seem interesting to you or come to all of them! (We'll have coworking as usual so you won't have to collaborate if you don't want to and you can certainly always work on your own projects-- or jump in and help out on our projects)

Central VA Ruby Enthusiast Group: Insight, Intuituion & Programming
Tuesday 1/15 6pm-8pm:
We programmers tend to think of ourselves as concrete, logical thinkers. We work from step 1 to step 2 through to step N. So we say. But real life is not like that: One minute you have no idea how the new design will come together and the next, well, there it is. One minute you haven't a clue as to why the program is doing *that* and the next it is all just obvious. And we have all seen code that is wonderful -- or horrible -- in some indescribable way.
In this talk Russ Olsen will explore the role of insight and intuition in programming: How does intuition work? How do you generate more of those AH-HA moments? And when should you ignore that voice whispering into your inner ear?
Civic Engagement- Why does it matter for RVA?
Wednesday 1/16 10:30-6:30
Do you want to make a difference in RVA? Do you want Richmond to be as cool as Austin or Boulder or Portland? Well, RVA is almost there! We just need a little bit of help to get over the hump-- and it is going to involve civic engagement and social entrepreneurship to get there. Come spend the day talking about obstacles we face as a city and as individuals. Help brainstorm ways to retain our creative class so we don't lose them to bigger cities like New York. After all, we were voted the country's #1 river town, we don't really suffer from traffic problems and living it Richmond is like having the "easy" button on-- its fairly easy to live here.
1) So, why do you love RVA?
2) What is the #1 improvement RVA could use?
3) What is RVA's biggest challenge?

Creativity is something that can't be underestimated on any average day at 804RVA, and last week acclaimed local artist Ed Trask definitely kicked it up a notch. In conjunction with the latest RVA "Jelly Day," Ed came to 804RVA to share what he considers a true custom paint job for a vehicle.
From talking to Ed about his art, he shared that he's influenced by the culture, traditions and local lore all around him. The same can be said for the co-workers at 804RVA ... it's a good thing to be able to pull from the collective experience of fellow workers to come up with more meaningful solutions to our everyday work.
Many thanks to Kelly Ward of Award Web Services who provided some excellent brain food for the co-workers during Jelly Day!
Here's some pictures from the day of Ed and his work in progress.
